ND seeking proposals for honeybee project grants

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring says the state has about $100,000 available to fund research and promotion of honeybees.

The agency is seeking grant proposals in five research areas — colony collapse disorder, varroa mite control, honeybee viruses, pathogen management and other problem-solving ideas.

Goehring says proposals must have a direct benefit to North Dakota honey producers. The deadline for proposals is June 1.
