SDSU Extension hosts Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) Certification in Aberdeen and De Smet
BROOKINGS, S.D. – SDSU Extension will host Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) Short Course and Certification training in Aberdeen Monday July 18, 2016 from 1 to 7 p.m. and in De Smet Tuesday July 19, 2016 from 1 to 7 p.m.
“Beef Quality Assurance certification is important to South Dakota beef producers and consumers. Maintaining current BQA certifications for all employees creates consistency in cattle care, ensures cattle well-being and beef safety, and builds an environment of continuous improvement on the farm or ranch,” said Heidi Carroll, SDSU Extension Livestock Stewardship Associate.
Cost for both events is $5 if you pre-register by July 15 or $10 at the door. This fee covers materials and refreshments. People choosing to attend only the BQA Certification Training from 1 to 3 p.m. only may attend at no cost.
The Aberdeen short course and training will be held at the SDSU Extension Regional Center in Aberdeen (13 Second Ave. SE). The De Smet short course and training will be held at the De Smet Event & Wellness Center (705 Wilder Ln.).
