Entertainment abounds at the SDCA Convention and Trade Show
Pierre — The Watertown Event Center and Ramkota is where cattlemen and women will gather Nov. 29 – Dec. 1 for the 68th Annual South Dakota Cattlemen’s Association (SDCA) Convention and Trade Show. The festivities will commence on Tuesday evening, Nov. 29, when convention attendees and trade show vendors gather to relax and network during the Trade Show Welcome Reception.
“The Trade Show Welcome Reception is a great opportunity to connect or reconnect with fellow cattlemen and allied industry representatives from across the state,” said Jodie Anderson, SDCA Executive Director.
Wednesday morning will focus on educational sessions covering current issues and tips for maximizing profits. During lunch, Dr. Garry Lacefield will share his personal perspective on gratitude.
“SDCA is pleased to have Dr. Lacefield provide our keynote address focused on gratitude during lunch on Wednesday. His refreshing perspective is surely a timely topic as agricultural producers experience the everyday challenges that go along with farming and ranching,” stated Anderson.
Following business meetings on Wednesday afternoon, the popular President’s Auction begins on Wednesday evening. The proceeds from this fast-paced live auction are set aside to help SDCA officers off-set their travel expenses, and it’s a favorite of attendees. Convention goers have come to expect the array of items from veterinary supplies, to fencing products and home décor. Dubas Cattle Company is donating two credits valued at $2,000 each toward the purchase of a Silencer Chute or other Silencer equipment. This generous donation by Dubas Cattle Company is a great opportunity to upgrade your cattle handling equipment.
Back by popular demand is the chance to bid on two African Safari, donated by Numzaan Safaris. This year, Numzaan Safaris is generously contributing a two-person and a four-person hunt. These once-in-a-lifetime experiences include a 5-day hunt in Limpopo Province, South Africa and winning bidders will choose which animal(s) to hunt and when they will hunt in 2017 or 2018.
The evening will wrap on Wednesday with ventriloquist James Wedgewood, who will show you the most fun you can have without moving your lips.
