Rochester, Minn. — SEMA Equipment, an eight-location John Deere dealership in southeast Minnesota, will host a no-reserve inventory reduction auction at the Olmsted County Fairgrounds in Rochester, Minn., on Tuesday, Nov. 29 starting at 9:00 a.m. The agricultural environment in southeast Minnesota is very diverse and requires a broad variety of equipment types. Customers who attend the auction can expect to find equipment for every need – tractors, combines, hay tools, skid steers, tillage, and lawn and garden equipment. Excess company vehicles, attachments, and tools will also be auctioned. An estimated 200 units will be auctioned off.

“Due to unusually high new equipment sales the last three years, SEMA has acquired a surplus of used equipment. We need to reduce inventory and we’ve decided the best way to accomplish this goal is to offer growers the opportunity to purchase late model equipment in an auction environment,” said SEMA General Manager Tom Wozney. “Due to a variety of industry circumstances, used equipment values have softened. For producers who have been waiting to upgrade their equipment, this auction provides a great opportunity to take advantage of exceptional values in the market.”

“In addition to very attractive auction pricing, we have also worked with John Deere Financial to obtain a great financing rate for our customers,” said General Sales Manager Kevin Schaefer. “With this auction and great financing options, we intend to put high quality and high performance John Deere Equipment in the hands of our area farmers at a very competitive cost,” said Schaefer.

SEMA Equipment is aware of the common stigma that surrounds most auctions when it comes to equipment condition. “Our focus with this auction is to reduce inventory, but also to support our customers and provide maximum field uptime,” said Wozney. “For this reason, we are offering free John Deere PerforMax equipment inspections, completed by highly-trained John Deere technicians with the purchase of select agricultural equipment at the auction. Customers will receive a full diagnostic report with their machine, plus work completed as a result of the free inspection will be done at an $80 per-hour labor rate and parts installed will receive a 5% discount.” Any item purchased over $50,000 will receive free trucking within a 200-mile radius. The evening before the auction, Monday, Nov. 28, guest speaker Greg Peterson of Machinery Pete will discuss the used equipment environment from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in Building 41 at the Olmsted County Fairgrounds in Rochester, Minn. Everyone is invited to attend this meeting. The Olmsted County Fairgrounds is located just seven miles north of Rochester International Airport on US Highway 63.
