Southeast South Dakota Experiment Farm hosts annual meeting Jan. 31

BROOKINGS — The Southeast South Dakota Experiment Farm will host its Annual Meeting Jan. 31, 2017 at the Bridges of Beresford (601 S 7th Street) from 1 to 3:15 p.m.

The afternoon program will include a welcome from Al Novak, chairman, Southeast Farm Board of Directors, and the following presentations:

• Soil Health and Productivity, led by Shannon Osborne, research agronomist, USDA-ARS.

• No-Till in High Moisture Soils, led by Nick Vinje, Red River Valley producer.

• Soybean Seed Treatments and Cover Crops, led by Adam Varenhorst, assistant professor and SDSU Extension field crop entomologist.

• Multi-Hybrid Planter and More, led by Peter Sexton, Southeast Farm supervisor, associate professor and SDSU Extension sustainable cropping systems specialist.
