Part of Marshall County lake could be closed

Three landowners on Cattail-Kettle Lake in Marshall County have submitted a petition to close part of the lake to year-round recreational use, according to a public notice in the Oct. 18 American News.

The landowners are Raymond Anderson, Scott Anderson and Jason Pitzl.

A hearing is planned at 8 a.m. Nov. 2 at McCrory Gardens, 631 22nd Ave., in Brookings to discuss the petition with the Game, Fish and Parks Commission.

Interested parties can submit written arguments in favor or against the petition or provide testimony at the hearing. Any decision by the commission can be appealed to circuit court.
