Ducks Unlimited hosting South Dakota state convention

Staff reports
Farm Forum

South Dakota Ducks Unlimited will be holding its state convention at the Arrowwood Cedar Shores Resort in Oacoma on January 26-28. The annual event is an opportunity for DU members and volunteers to celebrate the success of DU’s South Dakota habitat conservation and fundraising efforts. Presentations and activities for the entire family are planned during the weekend.

Since DU began its conservation work in South Dakota, more than 500,000 acres of important habitat have been conserved, benefiting waterfowl, ring-necked pheasants, white-tailed deer, and hundreds of other species of fish and wildlife.

Recently, DU launched a new Soil Health Initiative, an effort to engage with South Dakota landowners to improve soil health on working farms and ranches. The program is designed to promote sustainable and profitable agricultural practices that also enhance wildlife habitat and improve water quality in our wetlands, rivers and lakes.

Visit www.ducks.org/South-Dakota for more information about our conservation programs. To register for the convention, sign up online or call Mary Schneider at 605-770-7419.
