The Dakota Classic Cutting Futurity, a breeders incentive program, was held at the Yellow Rose Arena in Platte, S.D., Oct. 6-7. The total purse for the event was $12,975.

The winner of the 3-year-old Open Futurity was FCS Imaclassyhydrive sired by Drivin With Style, owned by Forrest and Cynthia Stewart of Cody, Neb. Going into the clean slate finals, the Stewarts had failed to win any money in the go-rounds but then placed first in the finals with a score of 145.5 and won $1,101.21. Reserve Champion in the 3-year-old open was Sheza Victory Witch sired by Peptos Blueprint, owned by Troy Hayden of Rapid City and shown by Jim Whitcher of Scenic, S.D., winning a total of $1,777.50. Third place went to Krogs Miss Flinn sired by Cant Kick This Cat, owned by Steve and Leigh Krogman of White River, S.D., and shown by Sam Sheppick of Pierre, winning $1,171.50.

In the Non Pro 3-year-old futurity, the Champion was Sheza Victory Whitch, sired by Peptos Blueprint, and was owned and shown by Troy Hayden of Rapid City, winning $ 1,703.16. Reserve Champion of the 3-year-old Non Pro division was Lena Lil Whitch sired by Peptos Blueprint and owned and shown by Brad Vance of Lipan, Texas. Brad was awarded $1,172.31 for his win. Third place in the Non Pro 3-year-old class was FCS Imaclassyhydrive sired by Drivin With Style, owned by Forrest and Cynthia Stewart and ridden by Cynthia Stewart of Cody, Neb. Cynthia placed in the first go and the second go plus the finals and won a total of $1,548.33.

In the Classic (5- and 6-year-old) Open class, the Champion horse was Kwitcherdualin sired by Peptos Blueprint, owned by Jim and Rhonda Whitcher and shown by Jim Whitcher of Scenic, S.D., winning

$1,042.50. Reserve Champion was Kwichermovin, sired by Peptos Blueprint, owned and shown by Brad Vance of Lipan Texas, winning $347.50 for his placing.

Brad Vance of Lipan Texas riding Kwichermovin also was Champion of the Classic (5- and 6-year-old) Non Pro division. Brad won $1,042.50 for his placing.

Reserve Champion was Kwitcherdualin sired by Peptos Blueprint, and owned by Jim and Rhonda Whitcher and shown by Rhonda Whitcher of Scenic, S.D. Rhonda won $347.50.
