SDSU Extension Hosts 2019 Forage Field Day in Beresford August 7

BROOKINGS, S.D. — SDSU Extension will host a Forage Field Day for livestock producers, agronomists and industry clientele interested in producing and storing high quality forages.

Forage Field Day will be held at SDSU Southeast Research Farm (29974 University Rd) and begins at 10 a.m. and will run until 4 p.m.

“This event will feature a hands-on case study and hay storage demonstration,” said Sara Bauder, SDSU Extension Agronomy Field Specialist. “Speakers include Dr. Kevin Shinners (University of Wisconsin), who will address ‘Conserving Round Bale Value During Storage, and Jared Goplen (UMN) who will speak about Harvest Timing and Management.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to tour forage plots, partake in case studies, and learn about forage equipment safety.
