13th Annual Miss Rodeo Aberdeen Contest – Aug. 11
The 13th Annual Miss Rodeo Aberdeen Pageant will be held on Aug. 11.
Horsemanship will begin at 9 a.m. at Horseshoe Stables, 2502 135th Street SW, Aberdeen, with interviews, style show/modeling, oral presentation competition, and coronation to follow starting at 12:30 p.m. at the Aberdeen Senior Citizens Center, 1303 7th Ave., Aberdeen. All events are free and open to the public.
The new Miss Rodeo Aberdeen Queens will represent Aberdeen at bull riding/rodeo competitions across the state as well as many local and state wide community events throughout the year. The reigning 2019 Miss Rodeo Aberdeen is Carrietta Schalesky of Rapid City and the reigning Jr. Miss Rodeo Aberdeen is Maddie Williams of Brentford.
The 2019 Miss Rodeo South Dakota is Jordan Tierney of Oral who will advance to the Miss Rodeo America competition in Las Vegas, Nevada in December. The Jr. Miss Rodeo South Dakota is Tyler Hintz of Timber Lake.
In addition to the title the new Miss Rodeo Aberdeen Queens will be awarded a crown, banner, chaps, buckle and much more.
Contestants are judged equally in three categories: appearance, personality and horsemanship. The scores from a contestant’s oral presentation, photogenic judging, interviews, impromptu questions, introductions, and modeling are also included.
