Staff reports
Farm Forum

The South Dakota Grassland Coalition hosts a popular grazing school every year during the second week of September. Two three-day sessions are offered. This year the school will be held near Chamberlain, Sept. 9-13. Class 1 convenes Sept. 9-11, Monday morning through Wednesday afternoon; Class 2 convenes Sept. 11-13, Wednesday afternoon through Friday afternoon.

The Grazing School is designed for producers and anyone with an interest in learning how to best manage grasslands to benefit livestock.

The agenda features presenters from state and federal agencies and universities. Area producers share their expertise about various topics related to grazing techniques and grassland management. Participants will hear presentations in the classroom and gain experience with hands-on activities in the field.

Space is limited.

The cost is $150 for current SDGC members or $180 for non-members — which includes a one-year membership, session materials and meals. The cost for each additional person from the same operation is $75.
