10th annual Horse Field Day: Wet weather woes

The UMN Equine Extension program will be hosting the 10th Annual Horse Field Day on Aug. 14 from 6-8 p.m. at the Leatherdale Equine Center on the St. Paul Campus. The program will focus on “Wet Weather Woes.”

Participants will rotate through three topics, including:

• High traffic pads for mud management presented by Krishona Martinson and Jessica Prigge

• Tips for optimizing and stretching your hay supply presented by Marcia Hathaway and Hannah Lochner

• Using rained-on hay and preservatives presented by Craig Sheaffer and Amanda Reiter

The cost to attend the field day is $15 and registration is required by Aug. 12 at noon. Online registration is available at www.regonline.com/HorseFieldDay2019. The registration fee includes refreshments and handouts. The Field Day is recommended for ages 13 and up, but is open to everyone.
