SDSU Extension is partnering with the South Dakota Counselors Association (SDCA) to host a three-day stress summit on September 23-25 at the Arrowwood Cedar Shore Resort & Conference Center (1500 Shoreline Dr., Oacoma, SD 57365).

The detailed agenda is listed below the registration form.

Day 1 — Monday

Dr. Mike Rosmann, President of Rosmann and Associates and Executive Director of Agri Wellness, Inc., is our keynote speaker. Dr. Rosmann is a farmer and psychologist from Harlan, Iowa. He returned home to Iowa during the 80’s farm crisis as he felt no one was helping producers. His professional work has since contributed to the understanding of why people farm, the unique characteristics of farmers, and why suicide is unusually common among farmers and ranchers.

Breakout Sessions throughout the day will feature tracks for farmers, ranchers and helping professionals, including SDSU Extension’s “Weathering the Storm.”

Day 2 — Tuesday

Tools for counselors, farm and ranch family members, agri-businessmen, and community members on how to recognize and aid those experiencing chronic stress. “Communicating with Farmers Under Stress” workshop by SDSU Extension specialists.

Day 3 — Wednesday
