BROOKINGS — SDSU Extension will be hosting a Your Money, Your Goals program on Oct. 1 at the Brookings Public Library, Oct. 8 at the Sioux Falls Extension Regional Center, and Nov. 5 at the Watertown Regional Library. Each program is open to the public, free of cost and will be held from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Your Money, Your Goals is a financial empowerment program designed to help consumers of all ages and income levels to meet their financial goals by increasing their knowledge, skills and resources.

“This program is for anyone who wants to get more control over his or her finances,” said SDSU Extension Family Resource Management Field Specialist and program leader Lorna Saboe-Wounded Head. “ If anyone has ever felt like money is controlling them, limiting their ability to make decisions about spending money, or that they don’t have money to plan ahead for future financial goals, Your Money, Your Goals program will provide them with knowledge and skills for effective financial management practices.”

During the program, Wounded Head will instruct participants about tracking income as well as spending, organizing and paying bills and expenses. Additionally, each participant will receive a booklet called “Behind on Bills? Start with One Step.”

“Participants of Your Money, Your Goals programs walk away feeling more confident about creating a spending plan, saving, managing debt and prioritizing bills and expenses,” said Wounded Head.

Pre-registration is encouraged but not required, as space is limited. To register, visit and search Your Money Your Goals and the event location.
