Winfred family chosen as honorary captains for Saturday's Ag Bowl at DSU
A Winfred family has been chosen as the honorary captains for Saturday’s Ag Bowl at Dakota State University in Madison.
Kim and Cheryl Lewis are third-generation farmers from Winfred. Kim’s uncle, Gary Lewis-Coomes, also farms near Winfred.
“We have a long history in the family as ag producers,” Lewis-Coomes said in a news release from Dakota State.
Others in the family work at Dakota State, including head football coach Josh Anderson, who is Kim’s cousin, and Pam Rowland, Kim’s sister.
“Farming is a tremendous undertaking,” Lewis-Coomes said in the release. “You need a strong will, great desire, and great management to make it happen.”
The Ag Bowl game is set for 2 p.m. at Trojan Field against Dickinson State University.
