COLCHESTER, Vt. - The American Agri-Women Foundation has chosen five scholarship recipients that play a positive role in their communities, encourage the present generation of agriculture, and desire to continue their education in agricultural pursuits. Among the recipients is a student hailing from Bismarck, N.D.:

Madison Baumgartner

The $1,000 Citizen Jane Marshall Scholarship went to Baumgartner of Bismarck. She was previously enrolled in a study abroad course that focused on comparative livestock systems in the Midwest vs. England. Madison is a very inquisitive individual who is passionate about the veterinary science industry and the animals within them, according to a news release.

According to the release, AAW promotes the welfare of America’s national security through a safe and reliable food, fiber, and energy supply. Since 1974, AAW members have worked together to educate consumers, advocate for agriculture, and offer networking and professional development opportunities.
