4-H club report: Denim and Dust
Denim and Dust 4-H club hosted its Zoom meeting on Jan. 10.
TJ Wiedebush led the U.S. pledge and Morgan Sumption led the 4-H pledge. President Dillon Browning led the meeting.
In December, the club picked up trash in ditches along U.S. Highway 281 near Warner, S.D. The club also donated money to Feeding SD, The Salvation Army, Dacotah Prairie Museum and donated to Compassion International to purchase a chicken and a goat. Safety course for 4-H archery and BB gun were discussed. Fruit sales will be held online due to COVID-19.
Animal project enrollment dates were also given to members; they can be found in the Newshound. YQCA training is mandatory for all members who are enrolled in animal projects. If you do the training online, it is $12; if you attend a face-to-face training, the cost is $3 (please note days in the Newshound).
Horse safety testing will take place May 17-21. All members need to re-enroll. Flower sales through DeVilliers were discussed. The next Denim and Dust meeting will be Feb. 7 at 2 p.m. on Zoom (a link will be sent to members).
