Topsoil moisture supplies rated 43% very short, 42% short, 15% adequate, and 0% surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 40% very short, 40% short, 20% adequate, and 0% surplus.

Field Crops Report: Winter wheat condition rated 6% very poor, 26% poor, 36% fair, 31% good, and 1% excellent. Winter wheat emerged was 88%, behind 95% last year, and near 92% average.

Sunflowers harvested was 96%, ahead of 89% last year and 77% average.

Pasture and Range Report: Pasture and range conditions rated 36% very poor, 25% poor, 28% fair, 11% good, and 0% excellent.

North Dakota

For the week ending November 20, 2022, there were 2.3 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service.

Topsoil moisture supplies rated 22% very short, 41% short, 37% adequate, and 0% surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 25% very short, 44% short, 31% adequate, and 0% surplus.

Field Crops Report: Winter wheat condition rated 2% very poor, 4% poor, 31% fair, 62% good, and 1% excellent.

Sunflowers harvested was 94%, ahead of 89% last year and 77% average.

Pasture and Range Report: Pasture and range conditions rated 4% very poor, 26% poor, 41% fair, 28% good, and 1% excellent. Stock water supplies rated 9% very short, 37% short, 54% adequate, and 0% surplus.

Nebraska

Sorghum harvested was 98%, ahead of 94% last year and 92% average.

Livestock Report: Pasture and range conditions rated 42% very poor, 36% poor, 18% fair, 3% good, and 1% excellent.

Iowa

Harvest neared completion with 4.8 days suitable for fieldwork during the week ending November 20, 2022,according to the USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service. Cold temperatures and snow limited additionalfieldwork to applying soil amendments such as anhydrous, manure, and lime.

Topsoil moisture condition rated 17 percent very short, 35 percent short, 47 percent adequate and 1 percentsurplus. Subsoil moisture condition rated 24 percent very short, 38 percent short, 37 percent adequate and1 percent surplus.

Harvest of the corn for grain crop was virtually complete at 97 percent. Moisture content of field corn beingharvested for grain remained 16 percent.

Livestock were mostly in good shape with calves weaned and cattle out feeding on stalks.

Minnesota

Snow and freezing temperatures limited farmers to just 3.0 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending November 20, 2022, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service.

Topsoil moisture supplies were rated 22 percent very short, 35 percent short, 42 percent adequate, and 1 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies were rated 19 percent very short, 36 percent short, 45 percent adequate, and 0 percent surplus.

Corn harvested for grain was at 98 percent and sunflower harvest wrapped up.
