NSU athlete competes for rodeo club, track and field team

From pole vaulting to pole bending, from barrel racing to breakaway roping, one local woman puts forth a Worth-while effort regardless of the activity.

Northern State University’s Calley Worth is a key member of both the NSU track and field squad and the school’s rodeo club. What’s more remarkable is that the former Gettysburg standout manages to do both sports during the same season.

“I’m always busy,” Worth said. “I just schedule everything else around classes.”

Worth is currently in first place in the Great Plains Region of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association for barrel racing. If she finishes in the top three, she will earn her first trip to nationals in Casper, Wyo., in June.
