COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association will come to Rapid City on February 4 for one of eight stops on the Wrangler Champions Challenge, presented by Justin Boots. The Champions Challenge rodeos will be aired on Great American Country in a made-for-TV series featuring 10 top competitors in each event.

The top seven competitors in each event from the 2013 world standings have been invited to participate in the $80,000 event. Two of the remaining three spots will go to leaders in the 2014 world standings 30 days before each Champions Challenge event. The last spot will be awarded to Rapid City’s 2013 defending champion.

The format will be a 10-person, single-round rodeo with the wins going to the fastest times and highest scores. Autograph sessions will be held after each event with the top four contestants from that evening’s performance.

The rodeo is at 7:30 p.m. at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. Tickets for the event go on sale October 28 and are available at 1-800-GOTMINE.
