Three members of the North Dakota State University hunt seat equestrian team have qualified to compete in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association’s Zone 7 competition in Madison, Wis., on April 13.
They are Kaylin Scarberry, a senior from Fargo; Deann Berntson, a senior from Kulm; and Sarah Bridge, a senior from Plymouth, Minn.
They qualified for the zone competition at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association’s Zone 7, Region 3, horse show held Feb. 15 in Stillwater, Minn. All three placed in the top two in their division, earning the title of reserve regional champion. Scarberry competed in the intermediate flat division. Berntson competed in the novice flat division, and Bridge competed in the intermediate over fences division.
“These three young women have practiced hard this year, shown dedication to the team and all earned their spot to compete at Zones with their exceptional efforts,” team coach Mattia Gunkelman says.
