Top Sale Horse sells for $5,600

Farm Forum

Congratulations to Steve Vanvliet, Orange City, Iowa, for selling the Top Sale Horse for $5,600 on Sept. 20 at S.D. Horse Sales, Inc. in Corsica. Lot 2, Playboys Whiskey had all credentials on his resume to top the sale — looks, disposition, pedigree and experience. Whiskey is a big, honest, 8-year-old, home-raised gelding that has been ranch ridden and on many trail rides, parades and is started in the rope box. He is by an OWN son of Paddys Irish Whiskey and out of a daughter of Pick Play, who carries the all time stallion sale price record at Corsica ($25,100 in 1999). Whiskey sold to Mike Gregg of Minnesota.

Reserve Top Sale Horse Honor went to Zach DeLange, Corsica, S.D.

He sold Lot 57, Mr Crafted Hagrid for $3,000. “Hagrid” is a well-broke and quiet 3-year-old fancy dun gelding and an OWN son of Hagrid. This super nice young gelding is ready to take on to the next level as a winning performance horse. He sold to William Arrington of Nebraska.
