Smith crowned South Dakota High School Rodeo Queen

Riley Ann Smith of Rapid City was crowned the 2015-2016 South Dakota High School Rodeo Queen in Belle Fourche, SD on Saturday, June 27th at the South Dakota High School State Rodeo Finals. Riley attends St. Thomas More High School where she will be a senior this fall. During the 5 day competition, Riley also won the categories of Personality, Interview, Horsemanship, Photogenics and Top Test Score.

She will be traveling with the South Dakota National High School Rodeo team and representing the state of South Dakota at Rock Springs, Wyoming, July 10-18 to compete at the 67th annual National High School Rodeo. There she will be compete with 42 state, five Canadian Province and Australia queens during the 9 days at the world’s largest rodeo.

Again this year, the Saturday championship performance will be televised nationally as a part of the Cinch Highschool Rodeo Tour telecast series on RFD-TV. Live broadcasts of each NHSFR performance will also air online at NHSRATV.com. Performance times are 7 p.m .on July 12, and 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. each day thereafter.
