SD Horse Council to host spring clinic on April 22
The South Dakota Horse Council will host a spring clinic on April 22 at the DeHaan Equestrian Center located in Brookings, S.D. Jean Hommel and Kim Fordham-Lien will be presenting on showmanship, horsemanship, and ranch riding. Students enrolled in South Dakota State University equine courses will also present posters on various topics related to the horse industry. All are welcome to attend the clinic as this will be a day filled with information and instruction that will benefit new and experienced horse show exhibitors alike. This is also continuing education for 4-H horse show judges.
The clinic will begin at 9 a.m. and will last until approximately 3 p.m. The cost is $10 for children 17 and under and $15 for adults 18 and over. A meal will be provided at noon and is included in the cost of admission. The DeHaan Equestrian Center is located along the Highway 14 Bypass on the north side of the road, approximately one half mile west of Interstate 29 exit 133.
