SD Horse Council annual meeting to address electronic logging mandate

South Dakota Horse Council
Farm Forum

The annual meeting of the South Dakota Horse Council will be held at 1 p.m. on April 21 at the Animal Science Building on the South Dakota State University campus. Sgt. Meland and Trooper Holman of the South Dakota Highway Patrol will address the group regarding the electronic logging mandate and CDL licensing laws and how they are to be enforced in South Dakota.

Nationwide Congress has delayed electronic logging device (ELD) enforcement for livestock haulers to Sept. 30. This allows additional time for the education of livestock haulers on the proper scope of the ELD mandate and use of CDL licenses. This meeting will address the concerns of equine haulers. Plan to attend this meeting and bring your questions for Sgt. Meland and Trooper Holman.

There will be an election of officers and board members. All horse men and women and all horse related organizations and businesses are welcome to attend. For additional information contact Jo Waldner 605-690-7184 or email jwaldner@itctel.com.
