Row crop meeting in Brookings – Jan. 15

SDSU Watertown Regional Extension Center will host the Row Crop Meeting January 15, 2013, in Brookings at the First Lutheran Church Activity Center at the corner of Main Ave and Eight Street.

East Central South Dakota farmers this is your chance to visit with all your SDSU Crops Specialists in one location on one day.

The event will start at 8:00 a.m. with coffee and rolls and viewing booths. The program starts at 9:00 a.m. with Nathan Mueller SDSU Extension Crops Specialist talking on Managing Crops During Dry Weather.

At 9:30 a.m. Weather Outlook for 2013 will be provided by Dennis Todey SDSU Extension Climatologist.

10:15 a.m. break and view booths.

10:30 a.m. is Fertilizer Issues with Ron Gelderman, SDSU Extension Soils Specialist.

11:00 a.m. Lisa Elliott SDSU Commodity Marketing Specialist will discuss Crop Market Outlook for 2013.

11:30 a.m. Paul O. Johnson SDSU Extension Agronomy Field Specialist will talk of data and how it is used.

12:00 Lunch will be provided for all registered.

1:00 p.m. Resistant Issues will be covered by Mike Moechnig, SDSU Extension Weed Specialist.

1:45 p.m. Jim Krantz SDSU Cow Calf Field Specialist will cover Livestock Pesticides.

The afternoon will conclude with Paul O. Johnson covering What You Need to Know About Pesticide Applicator Training and wraps up around 4:00 p.m.
