From the Editor: Good time to meet area lawmakers

Farm Forum

Cracker Barrel legislative meetings in Aberdeen begin Feb. 2 at Northern State University. It’s a very good time for constituents to meet area lawmakers and discuss the issues facing the state.

We will again offer live streaming video coverage of the Cracker Barrels. This season, we will also take your questions live via email and a Cover It Live chat. There is no reason not to participate — even if you aren’t in the room.

Of course, our lawmakers hear from residents outside those formal meetings, too. Here are contacts for our area lawmakers:

Local columnists are needed for the editorial page. We need folks who can write columns about local issues every two weeks. We pay those regular columnists. Email me if you want to learn more.

I’ve had good feedback about the Sunday Nonprofit Spotlight column. A lot of local groups are writing columns in the rotation, but I want to make sure groups outside of Aberdeen know they can participate. Again, email me for information.
