LETTER: Proud of band
South Dakota can be very proud of the way that it was represented at the inauguration parade on Jan. 21, in Washington, D.C. I watched with pride as a South Dakotan and proud father as our son, Luke, and the rest of the Marching Wolves went by the presidential viewing booth and got the “thumbs up” from Vice President Joe Biden.
One of the announcers commented on the big sound that came from the group. You could sense that the band was also having fun when they did the “NSU” chant when they were done playing for the president.
There were no Democrats or Republicans in D.C. that day, only Americans, all celebrating together.
