Public Voice: Congress still fighting

Farm Forum

Well, Congress is back at each other’s throats again.

The Republicans and the Democrats both have their own plans that they say will work. One of the main controversies seems to be the $4 billion that the Republicans want to cut from the food stamp program, which doesn’t seem like a lot when you compare it to the $80 billion they say the food stamp program is costing us. And it might be worth it if we could use the funds to create jobs and put people to work.

And the Republicans want to defund the Obama health care program, which I was kind of dubious about, but Congress voted it into law, so I would give it a chance. These government health care plans seem to work in some other countries, so I don’t see why they wouldn’t work here.

Then the Republicans keep bringing up the Benghazi affair that killed four Americans. They are bound to try and pin the blame on the Democrats.
