'Field to Fork: A Farm to Table Connection' will feature local Aberdeen area producers

Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce

The Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce’s Agribusiness Committee is holding its second Field to Fork: A Farm to Table Connection on Friday, September 10. The event, Around the Farm Revolving Dinner, will run from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Centennial Village, Brown County Fairgrounds.

This unique event is designed to open conversations between farmers and consumers about food and farming. It will give consumers the chance to share thoughts about food with producers while learning how farmers raise food and work to keep it safe.

The tentative menu includes:

  • vegetables and fruits
  • charcuterie board that includes hemp, dairy, eggs, bison, turkey, honey, sunflowers, flax and oats
  • sheep
  • beef
  • pork
  • goat
  • dessert (South Dakota State University ice cream and soybean sweets
  • locally-made wine and beers

Producers will be on hand at the stations to interact with diners and have casual conversation about modern farming practices and the resulting food and drink that end up on the table. There will also be music by Seth Anderson.

Ticket price is $50 and attendance will be limited to 200 guests. Net proceeds will go to Farm Rescue (www.farmrescue.org).

Tickets may be purchased by calling the Chamber at (605)225-2860, emailing info@aberdeen-chamber.com or going online to aberdeen-chamber.com/322/Field-to-Fork.
